A project for myself...

Every once in awhile you make something for someone else and you love the way it turns out and you want one for yourself. THAT was the case here...I wanted a shawl for myself. I started this project LAST YEAR. Yup...life took over. So October I pulled out the project to finish it. I had to add one one more skein before it was done. Here is the finished project...

Homespun Yarn:
{{color: Harvest}}

Oh I love hoe the colors just cascade down. I just love these colors together. I'm not even sure if this color is still available. The shawls are made to order. My Etsy Shop is not open at the moment. The price list is on the side bar. You can contact me through my facebook fan page Knitted Gifts by Nicole .

Projects for myself...

Since I've been knitting, I haven't even knitted a project for myself since I was like 10 yrs old. So the past two weeks I made myself three scarves. All of these are made with the Homespun yarn. The first one is from the Holiday Homespun Collection of colors. I really love this yarn for scarves. They are super soft & cozy.

color: Holly
I finished this one last night while sitting in the ER lobby.
You can read about my adventures here.

color: Tudor
I finished this one last Thursday.
I love how the colors cascade into each other.
This scarf is a tad shorter than the one above.

color: Edwardian
I finished this one two weeks ago.
Again this one is a short one.

The last two scarves were made with left over yarn from a previous projects that I did last year. That is why they are a tad shorter than the red one.
My next project is to knit a scarf for my daughter's teacher and I gotta finish that by this Thursday. If I do, I may knit another for the teacher aide in her class. Praying that I can get it all done before the kids go on winter break.
I am planing on knitting my guys beanies for Christmas and a scarf for my daughter to match her new coat.
After all that, I will start posting scarves in my Etsy store starting in January 2011.

New Year's Resolution...

as a family we have decided to be more charitable this coming year. we have been blessed with what we need.
fist of all...i have decided to turn this home-based business into a Christian based store. What that means...for every beanie or scarf sold or made; one will be given to charity. i'm looking into a few local charities.
second...there is a blog button on this website "WORLD VISION" please click on it and find more info for yourself. i first heard of this charitable organization while i was at the Women of Faith conference. i didn't have the money at the time to sponsor a child but i came home to check out the website. they have a "gift catalog" section and in that section there are different areas of need like clean water, giving chickens & ducks, and they even have a section for children in the US.
so please join my family this year as we plan to help children ALL over the WORLD in need.
This is our "Compassion Plan for 2010"
May God Bless You!
